Team Arkansas:

As an organization, we have committed to growth of Youth Wrestling in the state of Arkansas. We intend to do that in an organized fashion, with heavy consideration of different viewpoints, situations, budgets, and best practices. With growth comes a lot of excitement--great things manifesting, smiles, cheers, and lots of pride and feeling of accomplishment! However, we also recognize that growth can be painful while we are learning lessons along the way. Every volunteer that represents our organization has the best of intentions in mind and at heart. We will own missteps, and make efforts to be better for them, and when the situation allows, we will make situations right. We do ask for grace and diligence in bringing opportunities to our attention. We all want the best for our wrestlers, and want to keep momentum rolling, and correct and improve along the way!

There was a missed opportunity to make our first 2023-2024 Triple Crown Event's flyer more clear, and more so, recognize the girls that competed in the girls' division more equally. Inclusivity is an issue that is bigger than wrestling, and as important as growing this sport is for all of our wrestlers, we want to add value through shaping their character and confidence above skill and competitive opportunities. For that, we apologize, and appreciate the efforts made & conversations had on our behalf to ensure that no young woman felt inadequate or discounted. We have the opportunity to make that right; our insight from competition has given us some ideas for growth and some expansion of opportunities ahead!

With the support of our remaining Triple Crown hosts, we are proud to announce that all Triple Crown sites will hold a Girls-only division in addition to the Open, and the Triple Crown Medals will be awarded to both the Open and Girls-only divisions!  We will make every effort to have the first Triple Crown awards (Cabot) available at the next Triple Crown event, with grace, rest assured we will properly award our warriors!

Thank you to everyone who contributes to Arkansas Youth Wrestling, as a volunteer, tournament host, coach, parent, athlete, committee member, and so many, many other ways. Our opportunities are endless, and we are proud to be on this journey with you all!
